Hamlet (1948)

For the first time, I feel that I truly understand what all those mouthfuls of dialogue mean! I don't LOVE this film, but I thought it was so well done -- instead of seeming pretentious (as Branagh's Shakespeare always feels to me), the story seemed truly distressing and tragic. And I could FOLLOW it! Call the papers!
