The Winter Guest (1997)

One day following four pairs - two 12ish boys skipping school, a boy & girl in their teens doing the same, two old women traveling to a funeral, and a mother & her grown daughter. It's cold and the landscape is put to beautiful use - such a frigid place. The story feels a little too slowly paced, but there are many moments of loveliness.
