Dragon Seed (1944)

Chinese peasants deal with the changes wrought by Japanese occupation. The story is fine and clicks along -- didn't seem too long even at 2 1/2 hours -- but I had a really hard time getting past Katharine Hepburn playing a Chinese woman. It looked ridiculous and she acted even moreso.
