A Tale of Two Cities (1936)

Although I read the book in high school and remember being strongly affected by it, the only concrete piece of plot that I could recall is that Madame De Farge knitted and saw nothing.

This movie is pretty powerful: love, injustice, vengeance, and selflessness -- just packed with great stuff. Time to read the book again.
